Margot Beatriz was born on November 2nd 2020 in th Margot Beatriz was born on November 2nd 2020 in the midst of the pandemic. She is the one that I held closest. And now my beautiful Covid baby is four and going to school. Together we wait for her friend to come get her for a playdate. She decides on her birthday treats, the same way she decides on her clothes. She knows what party she wants. I am only here to do as she wishes. A lot has changed since she was born, but she will forever be my baby. I love you Margot the Pargot, you are such a beautiful human being. The fun of traditions such as our anual apple harvest @olmenhorst is to be able to see just how much my little girls have grown in just two years. #throwbackthursday to a year ago when I redecorate #throwbackthursday to a year ago when I redecorated our living room! I was inspired by the practice of Feng Shui. In Feng Shui the living room is connected to wood element. Tall rectangular shapes, the colors green and purple and wooden materials symbolize this element. These can now be found subtly in our moldings and use of wooden furniture, and less subtle in our wonderful green ceiling! By using the practice of Feng Shui one can change the qi or energy in a room. As the living room is also connected to the family, to growth and new beginnings, changes made here will likely affect your family or ability to start something new. In our case these were connected: we added a new member to our family (welcome Philippe!) and as a family of five make use of our living room far more often. When I visited @casadecoroficial last week I found myself looking at how we perceive our homes in 2024. Three things stood out for me. First up: colour. I am drawn to saturated colours: lush pink, blue, yellow, green and brown. Colours that give a warm feeling and yes, with a hint to the eighties (which is when I grew up). Good morning! After a few soft spring days the wea Good morning! After a few soft spring days the weather decided to return to fall. Light showers, heavy rain and even storms have tormented us these last few days. However, nature still knows it’s springtime and that goes for all my houseplants too. It is high time I put some of them in new pots, so they can grow further along. I wasn’t overly excited to get started as I’ve never done it before, but with the help of @happyhappyhouseplant and her great tutorials I did it! Carefully taking out my lovely plants, cleaning their roots, putting them into their new homes turned out not to be such a daunting task after all. Thank you Mandi for your help and inspiration! Now I need to install them in the right (not so) sunny spots again for spring and summer. I love to play around with them, plants are such a vital part of our homes! The best part about spring cleaning isn’t the clean closet or a decluttered living room. The best part for me is that I get to rotate the toys and the girls will have a brand new toy again that they had long forgotten about. Our toy kitchen is now upstairs (hello empty closets!) while their mouse house is ready for them. In the spirit of Montessori I reorganize the house every day. Laying out toys ready to play is so much more inviting and urges them to start right away instead of reaching for their screens. Happy children, happy mommy 😉. I decided to stay in and do some spring cleaning in our storage space. I’ve learned from Feng Shui that decluttering and cleaning is all about intent. What are you decluttering and why?
